Today is June 3, 2013 and it is now several hours after 9AM EDT which is when the winner was supposed to have been announced.... at least according to the timeline on this site. Has the winner been announced yet? I looked on the NEH website and didn't see anything there but maybe I overlooked it...

Are the submissions going to be public after the announcement ?

The winner did a kick @#$% design. I think everyone is curious in seeing the other submissions. It's the least the staff can give to others who took the time to design a submission.
We've all given you a lot of samples for free knowing we'd more then likely recieve no compensation. The real compensation in design challenges (typically) is letting artists view each others work.
Does anyone else feel slighted by this competition?

Dear Phil,
As we set up the guidelines for this contest, we were concerned about the ability of the competing artists to retain rights to their work. Except for the winning design, there was the expectation that the artist would retain all rights to their design submissions. Legally, we cannot publicly display on the internet art that has not been licensed for our use.

If that's the legal explanation, then that should be OK with us. However, there would be a better level of acceptance after seeing what all the competition looks like.
